Costa Rica has two seasons: a Green Season and a Dry Season. The green season runs from May through November, with the heaviest rains in September and October, and the dry season runs from December through April. While it usually rains three to five days a week for a few hours in the afternoon or night during the Green Season, the dry season has some windy days and no rain. Our average year-round temperatures are in the 80s (F) during the day and in the low 70s (F) at night.

Olas Verdes has strict cleaning and sanitizing guidelines that follow all government directives to prevent contagious diseases, including COVID-19. We use only certified sanitizers, which are also biodegradable and environmentally friendly. When cleaning guest suites between reservations, the primary points of contact are steam sanitized for extra protection. Additionally, we perform periodic, comprehensive steam sanitization in all suites and public areas of the hotel. All guests, vendors, business partners, and staff are educated on the proper protocol for washing hands, sneezing, and social distancing. For your convenience, there are tissues and alcohol gel in your bathroom, public bathrooms, as well as specific other public areas. All staff have been trained and continually reminded of our safe environment protocol, use of sanitizers, and other health-related topics.
We recommend you inquire soon about your preferred dates and book two to six months in advance due to our limited number of suites. For reservations during the holidays and high season, the earlier, the better.

For the Green season, you can pack the same items, just throw a light water-resistant poncho and an extra pair of sneakers. No worries if you forget something, ask any of our staff and we will be able to find what you need.
