Let me tell you a little secret. For most women their wedding day is the best days of their life; at least top-3, if we value school achievements and kids. But for a man, it’s the opportunity to make someone else happy. In my case, it was the chance to surprise my fiancée Diane. Quickly I discovered I would never forget my wedding and choosing Nosara beach in Costa Rica is one of the main reasons.
I searched for several destinations all around the World, but my friend Dave kept talking about his trips to Guiones beach in Costa Rica. His stories made it sound like a little piece of heaven on earth that only a few people get to contemplated on a daily basis. The description sounded a little hard to believe and somehow cliché as well. But man, was Dave right.
The more I googled playa Guiones hotels and the more Dave told me about it, the more excited my then future wife would get. It just seems like the right match for us waiting to happen.
See, I wasn’t looking for a huge event. I just wanted a little wedding in a place which could capture my memories forever. I needed a spot where all the extra activities are around the corner, and Olas Verdes Hotel was just the right place for us.
Olas Verdes is a small Costa Rican boutique hotel which will go a long way to making you feel paradise is at the tip of your fingers.
The idea was we were going to stay five days after the wedlock to then leave for another destination. Diane wanted to do some yoga the day after, and we found the Nosara Yoga Institute. It was perfect.
I’m not much into the Yoga lifestyle so picked a Nosara surf school to spend my morning. I can’t say I’m a natural learned, but that’s on me. The people in Nosara were so nice during the entire process; it would be a shame not to mention them.
We did some horseback riding and had one of the best times with the night lifestyle in Nosara. After five beautiful days, we took off to our next destination. I don’t want to name names, but I wish we never left. Pura Vida Nosara.
